Il s'agit d'un câble de raccordement en fibre optique simplex jaune de 15 m LC (mâle) vers LC (mâle). OS2 est une fibre optique monomode standard couramment utilisée avec des longueurs d'onde de 1310 nm et 1550 nm (9/125 microns), et présente une atténuation maximale de 1 dB/km. La norme OS2 est définie dans la norme ISO/IEC 11801. Ce câble OFNR (fibre optique non conductrice) est particulièrement adapté aux applications intérieures à fibre optique. Un câble simplex est un seul brin de fibre qui fonctionne mieux avec les émetteurs-récepteurs bidirectionnels ainsi qu'avec d'autres appareils à transmission unique.
